October 2021 SHC Noon Lecture featuring Dr. Robin Scheffler In-Person

Join us for a noon lecture with Dr. Robin Scheffler!

The October 2021 Student History Club (SHC) Noon Lecture will be held Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 12 PM virtually on Zoom. Dr. Scheffler will present, "Success or Failure for Whom? Cancer Vaccination and the Uneasy Relationship between Biology and Medicine in America."

Dr. Robin Wolfe Scheffler is an Associate Professor at the MIT Program in Science, Technology and Society, where he focuses on the history of modern biology and medicine. He is the author of A Contagious Cause: The American Hunt for Cancer Viruses and the Rise of Molecular Medicine (2019), and is currently at work, with support of the National Science Foundation, on Genetown, a history of the Boston-area biotechnology industry. He has also researched and written about the history of fatigue, humor in science, and crystallography.

This event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited and registration is required by Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 5 PM to reserve your seat and receive log in information.

The October 2021 Student History Club (SHC) Noon Lecture is sponsored by the Waring Library Society and hosted by the Waring Historical Library.
